The path to a better life starts here

Lenten Reconciliation

In Sunday’s Gospel, we’ll hear the story of Jesus cleansing the temple. Lent is an opportunity for each of us to examine the debris that separates us from God. Reconciliation will be available on Sunday at 3 PM at Our Lady of Fatima with several priests available.

To prepare below is an examination of conscience to guide a good confession experience.

Join us on our Lenten Journey

The number “40” has spiritual significance throughout the Bible: In preparing to receive the Ten Commandments, Moses stayed on Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights. Elijah walked 40 days and nights to the mountain of the Lord. Most importantly, Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 days and nights in the desert before beginning his public ministry.

The 40 days of Lent are a time of reflection, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. When we take time to prepare our hearts for the Resurrection of Christ, we grow spiritually both personally and as a parish community.

A philosopher once said, “our ends are in our beginnings.” Consider how you’d like to grow in the days leading up to Easter and choose one or two next steps to get you there.

On our journey: prayer, fasting and giving

When you give to Ascension Parish, you support both Saint Bridget and Our Lady of Fatima churches. Your generosity enables us to grow our children's and youth faith formation programs, expand adult ministries and pastoral care and enhance our worship experience.

Homily Third Sunday of Lent

As we continue our Lenten journey consider:
What does your heart need to be cleansed of so that you can truly soar?
